Default parameters for LF24-MFT actuators designed for 2 to 10 VDC applications are preconfigured during the manufacturing process. However, if necessary, customized versions of the actuator can be requested. These parameters are adjustable and can be modified through three methods: factory presets or custom configurations, user adjustments via PC-Tool software, or using the handheld ZTH US device.

The LF24-MFT US actuator is ideal for providing fail-safe, modulating control for dampers within HVAC systems. When determining the actuator size, it's important to follow the specifications provided by the damper manufacturer. Additionally, the actuator offers a feedback signal for indicating its position.

This specific actuator, the LF24-MFT US, offers a 95° rotation and is equipped with a graduated position indicator that displays a range from 0° to 95°. During normal control operations, the actuator synchronizes with the 0° mechanical stop or the mechanical stop of the damper or valves and uses this point as its zero position. It achieves this using a brushless DC motor controlled by an Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and a microprocessor. The microprocessor provides the necessary intelligence to the ASIC for maintaining a consistent rotation rate and accurately tracking the actuator's position. The ASIC is responsible for monitoring and controlling the brushless DC motor's rotation and includes a Digital Rotation Sensing (DRS) feature to prevent damage in the event of a stall condition. Importantly, the position feedback signal is generated without the need for mechanical feedback potentiometers, thanks to DRS technology. The actuator can be stalled at any point within its normal rotation without requiring mechanical end switches.

For installation, the LF24-MFT US actuator can be directly mounted to control shafts with a diameter of up to 3/4" (using a K6-1 clamp) and an anti-rotation bracket. In cases where direct coupling to the damper shaft is not feasible, a crank arm and various mounting brackets are available for damper applications. In the event of a power interruption, the spring return system ensures that the actuator provides the minimum specified torque required for the application. The LF24-MFT US actuator is shipped in the zero position, and manual adjustments can be made to achieve a tight shut-off against seats or gaskets.
