The Senva P5-0501-1LX is part of the Senva P5 Series Universal Dry Pressure Transmitter family - the multi-configuration unit in Senva's dry-pressure lineup. One SKU replaces multiple fixed-range transmitters in your stock: this unit's 0-5 in WC base scales to four selectable sub-ranges (settable via internal slide switch), with field-selectable output signal (4-20 mA 2-wire loop, 4-20 mA 3-wire, 0-5 VDC, or 0-10 VDC) and field-selectable direction (unidirectional or bidirectional). Built around a MEMS silicon piezoresistive sensor with non-position-sensitive design, manual or contact-closure auto-zero, and a patented enclosure with high-density DIN-rail mount and 3/8 in conduit-ready entry. This SKU ships with the optional LCD display for on-board pressure readout.

Universal = Inventory Reduction. The P5 is engineered to replace multiple fixed-range transmitters with a single stocking SKU. One technician visit, one part number on the truck - field-set the range, the output signal, and the direction to match the application. Eliminates call-backs caused by stocking the wrong range or output type, and reduces purchasing complexity for OEM and BAS contractors managing many sites.
Best for: the same 0-5 in WC range as the -0500 but with alternative sub-ranges (0.5, 1.0, 2.5, 5.0 in WC) optimized for filter dP and mid-range duct measurement. The universal output and selectable sub-range make this the right pick for OEM and BAS contractors who want one part number that fits many applications across their installed base.
7-YEAR
WARRANTY
Industry-leading 7-year limited warranty. Senva backs the P5 Series electronics for seven years - significantly longer than typical 2-5 year warranties on competing pressure transmitters. ZOT Supply is an authorized Senva distributor; product ships factory-new from Beaverton, Oregon with full manufacturer warranty intact.

Key Features

Universal Output + Sub-Range

Four field-selectable output signals (4-20 mA 2-wire loop, 4-20 mA 3-wire, 0-5 VDC, 0-10 VDC) on a single internal switch. Four selectable sub-ranges on another switch. Field-selectable unidirectional or bidirectional via a third switch. One stocking SKU covers what would otherwise be 16+ fixed-range parts.

MEMS Silicon Piezoresistive Sensing

Solid-state silicon sensing element with precision factory calibration. Non-position-sensitive design - mount flat, vertical, or DIN-rail without zero shift. Thermal drift is 0.02% FSO per deg C (0.01% per deg F) referenced to 72 F. Accuracy is +/-1.00% of selected range typical.

0-5 in WC Base + Four Sub-Ranges

Base full-scale: 0-5 in WC. Selectable sub-ranges in unidirectional mode: 0.5, 1.0, 2.5, 5.0 in WC. Selectable bidirectional sub-ranges: +/-0.5, +/-1.0, +/-2.5, +/-5.0 in WC. Set via slide switches inside the enclosure - power off before changing.

Manual + Contact-Closure Auto-Zero

Front-panel pushbutton zero plus a separate remote-zero terminal that accepts a normally-open contact closure - useful for programmatic re-zeroing from the BAS. Press and hold ZERO SET for 2 seconds with no pressure applied (or with H and L ports tied together) to re-zero. Zero drift <0.004 in WC per year.

Patented DIN-Rail + Conduit-Ready Mount

Patented enclosure design with two DIN-rail orientations - back-mount for standard depth or side-mount for high-density panels. Integrated 3/8 in flex conduit cover with 3/4 in knockout means no separate fittings needed for typical commercial install.

On-Board LCD Display

5-digit LCD shows live differential pressure in the configured units - useful for setup, balancing, and field troubleshooting without a separate handheld meter. The LED status indicator next to the display flashes for power heartbeat, auto-zero complete, and 110% over-pressure events.

Selectable Sub-Ranges & Outputs

This SKU is the 0-5 in WC base unit. All field-selectable options are set with slide switches inside the enclosure. Power must be off when changing switches.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sub-ranges and outputs does the P5-0501-1LX support?
This is the 0-5 in WC base unit. Inside the enclosure are slide switches that let you field-select the sub-range (4 unidirectional options: 0.5, 1.0, 2.5, 5.0 in WC, or 4 bidirectional options: +/-0.5, +/-1.0, +/-2.5, +/-5.0 in WC) and the output signal (4-20 mA 2-wire loop, 4-20 mA 3-wire, 0-5 VDC, or 0-10 VDC). Direction (uni or bi) is a separate switch. Power off the unit before changing any switch positions; new settings don't take effect until power is cycled.
How is the P5 different from the P4 Series?
The P5 is the Universal version of Senva's dry-pressure family. Where the P4 uses fixed ranges and fixed outputs (one SKU per range/output combination), the P5 lets you field-select the sub-range, the output signal, and the direction on a single unit. This means one P5 SKU can replace multiple P4 SKUs in inventory and on the truck. The trade-off: the P5 carries a +/-1.00% accuracy spec (vs the P4 Precision option at 0.25% or 0.50% NIST). Pick the P5 when inventory flexibility matters; pick a P4 Precision when documented NIST accuracy is required.
How do I wire the output signal?
Three terminals plus a remote-zero contact terminal. For 4-20 mA 2-wire loop: connect supply (12-30 VDC) and the 4-20 mA receiver in series through PWR and COM. For 4-20 mA 3-wire: PWR to supply +, COM to supply common, and the 4-20mA 3-Wire Out terminal to the receiver. For 0-5 VDC or 0-10 VDC: PWR, COM, and the 0-5/10V Out terminal. The Remote Zero terminal accepts a dry (N.O.) contact closure to trigger an auto-zero remotely. Tighten terminals to 3.5 in-lb. For 24 VAC supply, Senva recommends a dedicated isolation transformer since one side of the secondary ties to signal common.
What does the LCD display show?
The 5-digit LCD shows live differential pressure in the configured units. It's useful during commissioning, filter-loading testing, and balancing - verify what the transmitter is sensing without a separate manometer. The LED status indicator beside the display flashes every 5 seconds for normal operation, rapidly flashes when applied pressure exceeds 110% of the selected sub-range, and momentarily flashes when a zero operation completes.
How do I install this for duct-static measurement?
Two options. First: order the optional Senva RP-6 6-inch remote probe (sold separately) and run 1/8 in or 1/4 in ID tubing from the probe in the duct back to the transmitter mounted on a panel. Second: order the integrated-probe variant P5-0501-1LP at this same base range, which ships with the probe pre-fitted to the back of the enclosure. Either way, follow Senva's recommendation: form a drip-loop in the tubing (let it dip below the hose barbs) to protect the sensor from condensation. Hose length up to 75 ft is fine for dry pressure - the only effect of added length is a small response delay equal to the speed of sound through the air column.
How do I zero the transmitter and what media is it rated for?
The P5 is rated for dry, oil-free air or nitrogen (N2) only - not for wet, oily, corrosive, or particulate-laden media. To zero: with power applied and no differential pressure across the ports (or with the H and L ports temporarily tied together), press and hold the ZERO SET button for 2 seconds. The LED will flash momentarily when the operation completes. The unit also supports remote auto-zero via an N.O. contact-closure input wired to the Remote Zero terminal - useful for triggering periodic re-zero from the BAS to compensate for the long-term zero drift (typically under 0.004 in WC per year).
