The Senva P6-4000-1LX is part of the Senva P6 Pro Series - the premium NEMA 4 universal dry pressure transmitter in Senva's lineup. Built for harsh and washdown environments, this unit's 0-40 in WC / 0-10000 Pa base scales to 10 field-selectable sub-ranges (via internal rotary dial) with field-selectable output signal (4-20 mA 2-wire loop, 4-20 mA 3-wire, 0-5 VDC, or 0-10 VDC), field-selectable direction (uni or bi), field-selectable display units (inches WC or pascals), and field-selectable response rate (2-second fast or 8-second slow). LCD display is standard. The watertight gasketed cover and integrated cable gland maintain NEMA 4 rating in wet, dusty, or washdown-clean environments where NEMA 1 transmitters can't be deployed. This is the Dual Brass Barb variant - the panel-mount configuration. Plumb tubing to the two brass hose barbs (accepts 1/8 in and 1/4 in ID poly tubing) for high-side and low-side pressure connection. No probe is included; if you need in-duct mounting, see the Duct Probe variant of the same range.

NEMA 4 Washdown-Rated. The P6 Pro Series is the only universal transmitter in Senva's dry-pressure lineup with a NEMA 4 enclosure rating - watertight, hose-down clean, and dust-tight. Comes with an integrated watertight cable gland for the field wiring entry; the gland can be replaced with 3/8 in conduit fitting if hard conduit is preferred. The right pick for food and beverage plants, pharmaceutical processing, kitchen exhaust, parking garage exhaust, indoor pool spaces, agricultural facilities, and any other wet, humid, or contaminated installation where a NEMA 1 transmitter would fail.
Best for: high-static and industrial applications - large fan and blower monitoring, kiln draft control, paint booth differential, dust collector filter loading, and other high-pressure dry-air or N2 applications, specifically in environments where NEMA 4 is required. Washdown rooms, high-humidity spaces, dusty mechanical rooms, outdoor-rated installations, and food/pharma facilities all favor the P6 over the P5 (NEMA 1) at the same price tier. The 10 selectable sub-ranges plus selectable response rate also make this the right pick when you need granular range tuning that the P5's 4-position selector can't deliver.

Key Features

NEMA 4 Washdown Enclosure

Watertight, dust-tight, hose-down rated housing with gasketed cover and integrated watertight cable gland. UL94-5VB ABS construction. The right pick for kitchen exhaust, food/pharma plants, parking garages, indoor pools, and other wet or contaminated environments where NEMA 1 transmitters fail.

10 Selectable Sub-Ranges

Internal 10-position rotary dial selects from 1.0 in WC to 40 in WC (or equivalent Pa values), with 10 finely-spaced steps in between. Twice the granularity of the P5's 4-position selector - the right pick when range tuning matters or when you don't know the exact pressure profile yet at spec time.

Selectable Fast / Slow Response

DIP-switch selectable response: Fast = 2 seconds for dynamic applications (VAV, fast-acting filter monitoring, transient duct events) or Slow = 8 seconds for stable averaging in turbulent ducts. Match the response to the application without ordering a different SKU.

Universal Output Signal

Slide-switch selectable: 4-20 mA 2-wire loop powered, 4-20 mA 3-wire VAC/VDC powered, 0-5 VDC, or 0-10 VDC. One SKU covers all four output types - field-set to match the controller input at install time.

LCD Standard + inWC/Pa Selectable

Built-in LCD display is standard on all P6 SKUs (not optional). DIP-switch selects between inches WC and pascals on the display - same SKU works for imperial-spec North American projects and metric-spec international projects. LED status indicator: power heartbeat, auto-zero complete, 110% over-pressure.

Dual Brass Pressure Barbs

Two brass hose barbs labeled HI (high) and LO (low), accepting 1/8 in or 1/4 in ID poly tubing. Best for panel-mount installations where tubing runs back to a static pickup point or pitot tube in the duct. Form a drip-loop in the tubing to protect the sensor from condensation.

10 Selectable Sub-Ranges & Outputs

This SKU is the 0-40 in WC / 0-10000 Pa base unit. Set the internal 10-position rotary dial to the desired sub-range, then use the slide switches to select Uni/Bi direction, inWC/Pa display units, Fast/Slow response, and the output signal type. Power the unit off before making any changes and form a drip-loop in the tubing to protect against condensation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sub-ranges and output options does the P6-4000-1LX support?
This is the 0-40 in WC / 0-10000 Pa base unit with 10 selectable sub-ranges via internal rotary dial. Inches WC options: 1.0, 2.5, 5.0, 8.0, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40 in WC. Pascal options: 250, 625, 1250, 2000, 2500, 3750, 5000, 6250, 7500, 10000 Pa. The output signal is also field-selectable (4-20 mA 2-wire loop, 4-20 mA 3-wire, 0-5 VDC, or 0-10 VDC), as is direction (uni or bi), display units (inWC or Pa), and response rate (2 sec fast or 8 sec slow). All configuration is done via the internal dial and DIP switches; power the unit off before making changes.
How is the P6 Pro Series different from the P5 Universal?
Four major differences. (1) NEMA 4 enclosure on the P6 vs NEMA 1 on the P5 - the P6 is washdown-rated and survives wet, dusty, humid, and contaminated environments where the P5 would fail. (2) 10 selectable sub-ranges on the P6 vs 4 on the P5 - much finer range tuning. (3) Selectable response rate (2-sec fast or 8-sec slow) on the P6 vs fixed 8-sec on the P5 - the P6 can drive fast-acting VAV control or slow averaging applications from the same unit. (4) LCD standard on every P6, vs optional on the P5. Pick the P6 when the install environment is harsh, when you need granular range tuning, or when fast response matters.
What does NEMA 4 mean for installation?
NEMA 4 means the enclosure is watertight, dust-tight, and hose-down clean when properly installed. To maintain the rating: (1) Use the included watertight cable gland for the field wiring entry (or substitute a NEMA 4 rated 3/8 in conduit fitting if hard conduit is required). (2) If you're using the duct probe variant, cap the unused barb to keep the enclosure sealed. (3) Make sure the cover gasket seats fully when closing the enclosure - re-seat if you've had it open. The right install lets you deploy in kitchen exhaust, parking garages, indoor pools, food plants, and pharmaceutical processing rooms - places NEMA 1 transmitters can't go.
When should I use fast vs slow response rate?
Fast (2 seconds) for dynamic applications: VAV box control, fast-acting damper feedback, transient filter loading events, smoke control supervision, and any application where the BAS needs to react quickly to pressure changes. Slow (8 seconds) for stable averaging: noisy or turbulent duct measurements, room or zone static pressure, slow-cycle filter loading trending, and applications where damping out high-frequency pressure noise produces a cleaner control signal. The slide switch is inside the enclosure; power off before changing.
Does this version include a duct probe?
No - this is the Dual Brass Barb variant. It has two brass hose barbs (HI and LO) accepting 1/8 in or 1/4 in ID poly tubing, but no integrated duct probe. Best for panel-mount installations where tubing runs from the transmitter back to a static pickup point or pitot tube in the duct. If you need direct in-duct mounting with the transmitter screwed to the back of the duct, see the Duct Probe variant P6-4000-1LP at the same range - that variant ships with both the probe AND barbs on the same unit (NEW Universal feature).
How do I wire the output and zero the transmitter?
Wiring: Four terminals (PWR, COM, VOUT, IOUT) plus a remote-zero input. For 4-20 mA 2-wire loop: PWR and IOUT in series with the loop receiver, 12-30 VDC supply, no COM connection. For 4-20 mA 3-wire: PWR + COM + IOUT. For 0-5 VDC or 0-10 VDC: PWR + COM + VOUT. Set the slide switch (top = 0-5 VDC 3-wire, middle = 0-10 VDC 3-wire, bottom = 4-20 mA 2-wire) to match. Zeroing: with no pressure applied to either port (or with H and L barbs temporarily tied together), press and hold the ZERO SET button for 2 seconds. The LED flashes momentarily when the zero completes. A remote N.O. contact closure on the ZERO terminal triggers the same operation - useful for periodic BAS-driven re-zero.
