The B5 Toxic/Combustible Gas Detector employs various sensing technologies to detect a wide range of gases. It is housed in a durable NEMA 4X rated plastic enclosure suitable for demanding applications. Key features include an internal clock, an LCD display for gas concentration and setup information, LED status indicators, an integrated buzzer with three user-configurable relays, and support for multiple communication protocols for use with gas controllers or building management systems. Sensor module replacements, which come pre-calibrated from the factory, can be easily swapped in the field by removing two screws from the previous module. After replacing the sensor module, it's essential to verify proper functionality and calibration once the new module has reached operating temperature. Users have the option to set a password to safeguard system integrity.
The B5 utilizes the BACnetTM MSTP (RS485) protocol for direct communication with a Building Automation System (BAS). Additionally, ACI offers a comprehensive selection of horns and strobes that can be integrated with the gas detectors or building management system to notify building occupants in the event of an alarm.
