BA/1K[NI]-RPP-6"-BB4 : Remote Probe, 1K Nickel RTD (JCI Curve), Plenum-Rated Cable, 6 in (0.15 m) Lead Length, BAPI-Box 4 Enclosure

The BAPI BA/1K[NI]-RPP-6"-BB4 is a single-point remote probe built around a rigid 304 stainless steel probe, 1.75 in long and 0.25 in OD, with a double-encapsulated element and a passive 1K Nickel RTD (JCI Curve). It ships with 6 in (0.15 m) of flame-retardant PVC plenum-rated cable, factory-terminated into a BAPI-Box 4 (BB4) enclosure.

Remote probes earn their keep where an immersion or duct sensor physically will not fit — refrigerated case monitoring, strap-on pipe sensing, thermowell inserts, chamber measurement and L-bracket mounting in tight or hard-to-reach spaces. The element is passive and has no polarity, so both leads land directly on any controller analog input configured for the 1K Nickel RTD curve. The BAPI-Box 4 (BB4) gives you a rated termination point right at the mounting surface instead of a splice above the ceiling.

Installation Notes

• Wire with twisted pair, 22 AWG minimum, using sealant-filled connectors. Heavier gauge may be needed on long runs.
• Do not share conduit with high or low voltage AC power wiring — BAPI testing shows signal error when AC runs alongside sensor leads.
• Two-wire passive element, no polarity. Land both leads on the controller analog input.
• For strap-on pipe mounting, insulate a minimum of four pipe diameters on each side of the probe (a 1/2 in pipe needs 2 in of insulation each way, wrapped fully around).
• The break-off tab on a BAPI Flexible Probe Bracket (BA/FPB) accepts the 1/4 in probe body and limits heat conduction from the mounting surface.
• Mount the enclosure with #8 screws through at least two opposing tabs; a 1/8 in pilot hole makes this easier.
• Use caulk or Teflon tape on conduit entries, and bring conduit in from the bottom for outdoor or wet locations.
