The BAPI BA/T1K[0 TO 100C]-PP-20'-BB2 is a loop-powered temperature transmitter that pairs a 1KΩ platinum RTD (385 curve) sensor with an onboard transmitter circuit, factory-calibrated to a 0 to 100°C span and housed in a BAPI-Box 2 (BB2) enclosure. It delivers 4 to 20 ma, 2-wire loop to your controller, so the signal arrives already linearized — no resistance curve to configure at the front end.

The sensing element is a heat conductive plastic cup, 0.875 in long, terminated with 20 ft (6.1 m) of plenum-rated cable. The transmitter linearizes the signal at the device, so the controller input is configured for a standard analog signal rather than a thermistor or RTD resistance curve. BAPI specifies a 12 to 40 VDC supply on a 2-wire loop, and calls for the transmitter to be mounted at least 5 ft from any radio wave-emitting device.

Installation Notes

  • Wire with twisted pair, 22 AWG minimum, using sealant-filled connectors. Heavier gauge may be needed on long runs.
  • Do not share conduit with NEC Class 1, 2 or 3 AC power wiring, or with feeds to motors, contactors or other highly inductive loads.
  • Keep the transmitter at least 5 ft from any radio wave-emitting device — two-way radios within that distance can cause interference.
  • Wire with power disconnected. Incorrect supply voltage, polarity or connections can damage the unit and will void the warranty.
  • Fits inside a standard junction box behind a wall plate cover, or retrofits into the body of an existing pneumatic thermostat.
  • Mount the enclosure with #8 screws through at least two opposing tabs; a 1/8 in pilot hole makes this easier.
  • Use caulk or Teflon tape on conduit entries, and bring conduit in from the bottom for outdoor or wet locations.
