The BAPI BA/TXS10[20 TO 120F]-RPP-15-BBX-TS is a field-selectable voltage-output temperature transmitter that pairs a 1KΩ platinum RTD (385 curve) probe with an onboard transmitter circuit, factory-calibrated to a 20 to 120°F span and housed in a BAPI-Box Crossover (BBX) enclosure. It delivers field-selectable voltage (0-5, 0-10, 1-5, 2-10 vdc or 4-20 ma via dip switch) to your controller, so the signal arrives already linearized — no resistance curve to configure at the front end.

The sensing element is a rigid 304 stainless steel probe, 1.75 in long and 0.25 in OD, terminated with 15 ft (4.6 m) of flame-retardant PVC plenum-rated cable. The transmitter linearizes the signal at the device, so the controller input is configured for a standard analog signal rather than a thermistor or RTD resistance curve. BAPI specifies a 12 to 40 VDC supply, with PWR, GRD and Vout connections for voltage output, and calls for the transmitter to be mounted at least 5 ft from any radio wave-emitting device.

Installation Notes

  • Wire with twisted pair, 22 AWG minimum, using sealant-filled connectors. Heavier gauge may be needed on long runs.
  • Do not share conduit with NEC Class 1, 2 or 3 AC power wiring, or with feeds to motors, contactors or other highly inductive loads.
  • Keep the transmitter at least 5 ft from any radio wave-emitting device — two-way radios within that distance can cause interference.
  • Wire with power disconnected. Incorrect supply voltage, polarity or connections can damage the unit and will void the warranty.
  • Voltage output is set by a 3-position DIP switch on the circuit board. It is set at the factory to your ordered output and can be changed in the field, including to 4-20 mA.
  • For strap-on pipe mounting, insulate a minimum of four pipe diameters on each side of the probe (a 1/2 in pipe needs 2 in of insulation each way, wrapped fully around).
  • The break-off tab on a BAPI Flexible Probe Bracket (BA/FPB) accepts the 1/4 in probe body and limits heat conduction from the mounting surface.
  • Mount the enclosure with #8 screws through at least two opposing tabs; a 1/8 in pilot hole makes this easier.
  • Use caulk or Teflon tape on conduit entries, and bring conduit in from the bottom for outdoor or wet locations.
  • The -TS terminal strip arrives factory-wired to the sensor. Land the controller pair on "Sensor A Out"; "Sensor A In" is already made up.
