BAPI BA/DMA : Door Monitor Alarm (DMA)
The BAPI Door Monitor Alarm (DMA) is a 24-volt door-status monitor that uses tri-color LEDs and an audible annunciator to show whether a door is closed, open, or open beyond a user-set time period.
The DMA mounts to a solid surface near the door and connects to a normally closed (NC) door switch. When the door opens, the face LEDs change color and both auxiliary relays energize to drive a building automation system or user-supplied warning device. If the door stays open longer than the user-selected interval, an internal audible annunciator sounds. It is built for mechanical rooms, electrical enclosures, and secure access points where clear door-status awareness matters.
Specifications per BAPI datasheet rev. 06/05/24 and Installation & Operations rev. 09/02/21.

Frequently Asked Questions
What voltage does the BAPI Door Monitor Alarm require?
The DMA runs on 24 VAC or 24 VDC from a UL Listed Class 2 power source, drawing up to 7.5 VA or 200 mA.
How does the DMA show door status?
Face LEDs indicate status at a glance: solid green when closed, flashing amber when open within the set time, and flashing red when the door has been open too long.
Can the DMA signal a building automation system?
Yes. Two auxiliary relays rated 1.0 A @ 30 VAC/VDC energize whenever the door opens, providing dry-contact outputs to a BAS or user-supplied warning device.
How long can a door stay open before the alarm sounds?
The open-time delay is set on the rotary switch. A test mode changes the interval from minutes to seconds for quick verification.
What door switch does the DMA need?
A normally closed (NC) door switch, such as the BA/DMA-RSW1 press-fit magnetic reed contact or the BA/DMA-RSW2 surface-mount mechanical switch.
What is the enclosure rating?
The DMA uses a UV-resistant polycarbonate enclosure rated IP66 / NEMA 4 with a UL94 V-0 flammability rating.
