Overview
Belimo PKB Series actuators are Basic Fail-Safe multifunction technology drives for the largest commercial HVAC control dampers. Rather than a mechanical spring, the PKBUP-MFT-T provides electronic fail-safe operation: short power interruptions are bridged for a set time (2 s default, adjustable 0...10 s), and on a longer outage the actuator drives itself to a configurable fail-safe position anywhere from 0...100% of travel — set in the field over NFC with the Belimo Assistant App. After power is restored, the actuator is ready again following a 5...20 second pre-charge.
The universal power supply accepts anything from AC 24...240 V to DC 24...125 V on one part number, and a smart heater with thermostat eliminates condensation inside the NEMA 4X / IP66/67 housing. A brushless DC motor with electronic overload protection drives 95° of rotation with 1400 in-lb [160 Nm] of torque; running time is 35 s per 90°, field-adjustable from 30...120 s. Multi-Function Technology ships configured for 2...10 VDC modulating control with 2...10 V position feedback, and can be re-parameterized for 4...20 mA, on/off or floating point — or run natively on BACnet MS/TP, Modbus RTU or MP-Bus, including hybrid mode with an analog setpoint. Two SPDT auxiliary switches are provided: one fixed at 12.5° and one field-adjustable from 2.5...92.5°. A 7 mm hex crank for manual override is supplied, and an integral pointer indicates position.
