The Model AAFS Adjustable Air Flow Paddle Switch is designed to detect a broad range of air velocities with minimal calibration, ensuring reliable performance across various applications. It features a stainless steel vane, a galvanized steel base, and a durable ABS enclosure. The switch is field adjustable from 200 to 1800 FPM (1 to 9.2 m/s).

Installation Instructions
- Location Selection: Install in a horizontal duct at least 10 duct diameters away from fans and 7 diameters from elbows, size transitions, or other turbulence-causing features. Avoid locations with excessive vibration or outside the switch's temperature range.
- Vane Preparation: Use the vane as-is for ducts 8" (203 mm) or larger.
- Trim the vane for smaller ducts.
- Mounting:
- Cut a hole and slot for the vane in the duct. Drill four 3/32" (2.38 mm) screw holes.
- Insert the switch through the slot and rotate it so the arrow on the enclosure aligns with the airflow direction.
- Secure the switch to the duct with sheet metal screws.
- Electrical Connections:
- Remove the conduit enclosure cover by loosening the retaining screws.
- Refer to Figure 2 for terminal identification: common, normally open, and normally closed. A ground screw is provided.
- Note: On decreasing airflow, the normally open contacts close, and the normally closed contacts open at the set point.
- Set Point Adjustment:
- Turn the flat-head screw under the enclosure cover to adjust the set point.
- Clockwise: Increase the set point.
- Counterclockwise: Decrease the set point.
