The Dwyer HFT-2315 is an in-line flow transmitter that measures water flow from 1 to 15 GPM (5 to 55 LPM) through a 3/4 in. female NPT brass body. It shows flow rate on an integral direct-reading scale and transmits a proportional 4-20 mA or 0-5 VDC signal from a 12-35 VDC supply, or a 1-5 VDC signal from a 17-35 VDC supply.

The signal goes to a PLC, process control computer, recorder or panel-mount display, so the HFT-2315 serves as the primary input device for recording flow rate. Output type is selected in the field with a programmable jumper and wired through a 4-pin DIN connector. The unit mounts horizontally, vertically or inverted with no inlet or outlet straight-pipe requirement.

Specifications per Dwyer Series HFT catalog page 278 and Bulletin F-HFT, FR# 443343-00 Rev. 4 (9/19). Verified October 13, 2026.

Key Features

Three Analog Output Options

4-20 mA (two-wire) or 0-5 VDC output, selected with a programmable jumper. 1-5 VDC is taken across a 249 Ω resistor on the 4-20 mA loop with a 17-35 VDC supply.

Local Flow Indication

An integral direct-reading scale shows 1 to 15 GPM (5 to 55 LPM) at the meter, while the electronics transmit the same flow rate to the control system.

Horizontal, Vertical or Inverted Mounting

Installs horizontally, vertically or inverted with no inlet or outlet straight plumbing requirement.

NEMA 4X Enclosure

Capable of outdoor or harsh-environment installation, with a 4-pin DIN connector for the signal wiring.

Brass Body, 3500 psig

Brass body rated to 3500 psig (240 bar) and 170°F (76°C), with Buna-N or fluoroelastomer seals, a PTFE coated Alnico magnet and 304 SS internal parts.

Factory-Calibrated Output

Response time under 100 ms, ±2% FS accuracy and ±1% FS repeatability. Outputs are factory calibrated.

Authorized Distributor

ZOT Supply is an authorized distributor of Dwyer products.

Frequently Asked Questions

What output signals does the Dwyer HFT-2315 provide?

The HFT-2315 provides a two-wire 4-20 mA signal or a 0-5 VDC signal, selected with a programmable jumper on the signal conditioning board. A 1-5 VDC signal is obtained by configuring the 4-20 mA output and placing a 249 Ω resistor in parallel with the receiver.

What is the flow range of the Dwyer HFT-2315?

The HFT-2315 reads 1 to 15 GPM (5 to 55 LPM) of water and has a 3/4 in. female NPT process connection.

What power supply does the HFT-2315 require?

The HFT-2315 runs on 12-35 VDC. The 1-5 VDC configuration requires 17-35 VDC. A 0.25 A fuse is recommended on the 4-20 mA circuit even though the signal conditioning circuit has integral over-current protection.

What are the pressure and temperature limits of the HFT-2315?

The brass body is rated to 3500 psig (240 bar), with a temperature limit of 170°F (76°C).

Does the HFT-2315 need straight pipe before or after it?

No. The HFT-2315 has no inlet or outlet straight plumbing requirement and can be mounted horizontally, vertically or inverted.

How much loop resistance can the HFT-2315 drive on 4-20 mA?

Maximum loop resistance is Rmax = 50 x (Vs - 12) Ω, where Vs is the supply voltage in VDC, with a supply between 12 and 35 VDC.

Does the HFT-2315 require filtration?

Yes. Observe the 200 mesh (74 micron) filtration requirement of the flow sensor to keep the internals from jamming.
