The Miljoco-Weiss 3VBM25-300 is a vari-angle bimetal dial thermometer with a 3″ 304 stainless steel case, a 2.5″ stem and a 50/300°F & 10/150°C dual-scale range, accurate to ±1.0% of full range per ASME B40.200.
A 304 stainless steel adjustable bracket gives the Vari-Angle connection, so the dial can be angled to suit the reading position.
Temperature is sensed by a precision-formed bimetallic element with silicone dampening to maximize response time, and the pointer is reset using the external recalibrator on the rear of the case.
Specifications on this page are taken from the 3VBM Series datasheet, revision 3VBM-01.24. Dimensional data from the 3″ and 5″ Vari-angle submittal drawing (2007).
Markets
The manufacturer lists this series for the following markets.
- Heavy process equipment
- Industrial petrochemical
- Oil and gas
- Pulp and paper processing
- Wastewater processing
- Food processing
Weiss bimetal thermometers should always be installed in a thermowell in pressurized applications to protect the stem from erosion and corrosion and to allow removal of the thermometer without disturbing the process.
Thermowells are a separate factory option and are not supplied with this thermometer. Consult the Weiss Thermowell Data Sheet for selection.
Key Features
3″ hermetically sealed case
304 stainless steel case, hermetically sealed, with a 304 stainless steel ring and gasket and a heavy strength glass window.
Accuracy ±1.0% of full range
Accuracy is stated to ±1.0% of full range per ASME B40.200 (B40.3 Grade A).
Adjustable Vari-Angle connection
A 304 stainless steel adjustable bracket allows the dial to be angled so the scale can be read from the working position.
External recalibrator
An external recalibrator on the rear of the case allows the pointer to be reset without opening the instrument.
Silicone dampened element
A precision-formed bimetallic element with silicone dampening maximizes response time.
Dual °F and °C dial
The dial is graduated 50/300°F & 10/150°C with a 20° figure interval and 2° minor graduations.

Frequently Asked Questions
What temperature range does the 3VBM25-300 cover?
The dial is graduated 50/300°F & 10/150°C, with a 20° figure interval and 2° minor graduations. The maximum dial reading is 300°F.
What is the stem length and process connection?
The stem is 2-1/2″ long including the thread, 0.250″ in 300 series stainless steel, and the process connection is 300 series stainless steel, 1/2 NPT.
How is the dial angle adjusted?
The 3VBM25-300 uses the Vari-Angle connection: a 304 stainless steel adjustable bracket that allows the dial to be angled to the reading position. No installation sheet for the 3VBM series was supplied with this listing, so no step-by-step adjustment procedure is published here.
Does this thermometer need a thermowell?
Weiss bimetal thermometers should always be installed in a thermowell in pressurized applications to protect the stem from erosion and corrosion and to allow removal of the thermometer without disturbing the process. Thermowells are a separate factory option and are not supplied with this thermometer. Consult the Weiss Thermowell Data Sheet for selection.
Can the pointer be recalibrated in the field?
Yes. The 3VBM datasheet specifies an external recalibrator on the rear of the case, so the pointer can be reset without opening the instrument.
