The Dwyer WD3-BP-D1-A Series WD3 Water Leak Detector protects critical equipment from costly water damage by sensing standing water before it spreads. It is battery-powered for locations without available power and uses a pilot-duty SPST NO SSR output for remote indication or control. An 85 dB audible annunciator adds local warning.

How does the Dwyer WD3-BP-D1-A detect water?
Water is detected the instant it rises high enough to bridge the two conductive strips on the underside of the housing. The minimum sensing gap is adjustable down to 1/32″ using the included bracket.
How long does the battery last and how is it replaced?
The 3V CR2450 lithium cell lasts about 5 years in steady state (48 hours sounding in alarm). A yellow LED and periodic chirp warn when it is low; twist off the cover with a flat-head screwdriver, swap the coin cell positive-side up, and re-seat the cover.
Does it need any wiring?
No mains wiring is required — it is fully battery-powered. The pilot-duty SPST NO SSR output (250 mA @ 24 VDC) is available for remote indication if needed.
How loud is the audible alarm?
The built-in annunciator sounds at least 85 dB at 1 ft and chirps until the water bridge between the strips evaporates.
What is the enclosure rating?
Audible WD3 models are water-tight up to 3/4 of the body height. The non-audible WD3-LP-D2 models are NEMA 6P (IP68) fully submersible.
How does it mount?
The included adjustable bracket attaches to any flat surface with the factory adhesive strips or two #6 or #8 screws. Sensing height sets anywhere from 1/32″ to 17/32″. A spare bracket is the A-WD3-BRK.
