The ACI A/O-PUP-V is a weatherproof outdoor pickup port designed to provide a stable reference point for monitoring building static pressure. The vertical-mount housing places the filtered intake facing downward toward the ground or roof — the right choice when the rooftop installation can take advantage of a vertical conduit run. UV-stabilized ASA/PC construction (UL 94-V0) keeps the unit serviceable for years in direct sun and weather exposure, with a nickel-plated brass filter element protecting the internal sensing path from dust, debris, and moisture intrusion.
Used in conjunction with any low-DP differential pressure transmitter compatible with 3/16 in ID tubing, the A/O-PUP-V provides the outdoor (reference) pressure tap for building static pressure measurement — the standard reference used in HVAC make-up air control, building pressurization, and exhaust fan staging. Mount at least 18–24 in from any wall or obstruction to avoid up-drafts; avoid placement near open windows, building corners, or roof drains where condensation or false wind-effect readings can corrupt the reading. Ships with a 1/2 in EMT compression fitting for conduit-routed tubing.
Rooftop installations providing the outdoor reference for building static pressure control, make-up air systems, building pressurization control, exhaust fan staging, and any HVAC application where an outdoor (atmospheric) pressure reference is needed for accurate differential pressure measurement against indoor or duct static.
Key Features
ASA/PC enclosure with UV protectant additive in Light Gray — engineered for direct sun and weather exposure on rooftops. UL 94-V0 flammability rating. Operating temperature range -22 to 185 deg F covers the full North American climate envelope.
The vertical-mount design positions the filter intake facing downward toward the ground or roof — the right choice when the rooftop installation uses a vertical conduit run with the housing mounted above the conduit termination.
Integrated nickel-plated brass filter on the intake protects the sensing path from dust, debris, condensation, and insect ingress — key for reliable long-term outdoor service. Filter rated for 150 psi maximum operating pressure (10.3 bar).
Single barbed fitting accepts 3/16 in ID flexible poly tubing. Compatible with the ACI A/10', A/20', A/50', and A/100' medical-grade tubing kits (sold separately) or any 3/16 in ID flexible tubing of equivalent quality.
Ships with a 1/2 in EMT conduit compression fitting for clean conduit-routed tubing installations. The conduit doubles as mechanical mounting support — run the conduit through wall straps to the bottom of the enclosure and tighten the compression fitting to secure the housing.
9.03 in L x 4.30 in OD x 2.29 in H housing at just 0.60 lb total weight — no special structural mounting needed. RoHS2, WEEE, and REACH compliant.

Frequently Asked Questions
The A/O-PUP-V is an outdoor pickup port — a weatherproof reference pressure tap mounted on the building exterior (typically the roof). It does not contain any electronics or sensing; instead, it captures the outdoor (atmospheric) pressure and routes it through 3/16 in ID tubing to a differential pressure transmitter or room status monitor located inside the building. The transmitter then measures the difference between the indoor / duct static pressure and the outdoor reference — the standard arrangement for building static pressure control.
Tubing is sold separately. The port uses a barbed fitting that accepts 3/16 in ID flexible poly tubing. ACI offers FDA-compliant medical-grade flexible PVC tubing kits in 10 ft (A/10' TUBE), 20 ft (A/20' TUBE), 50 ft (A/50' TUBE), and 100 ft (A/100' TUBE) lengths. For best results, keep the tubing run as short as practical — long runs slow response time and can develop condensation traps that corrupt readings.
Mount at least 18 to 24 in away from any obstruction (walls, equipment, parapets) to avoid up-draft and wind-effect errors. Avoid placement near open windows, building corners (wind acceleration), and roof drains (condensation ingress). Mount 1/2 in EMT conduit from the building penetration to the bottom of the enclosure as mounting support; use the included compression fitting to secure the housing. Recommended: run the tubing inside the conduit; close any unused knockouts.
Any low-DP differential pressure transmitter with a barbed fitting accepting 3/16 in ID tubing — including ACI's own DLP and MLP2 series, BAPI ZPM zone pressure multi-sensors, Dwyer RSM, RSME, and RSMC StabiliSENSE room status monitors, Senva pressure transmitters, and most other manufacturers' low-DP air pressure transmitters. The pickup port is a passive accessory — brand compatibility is determined by the tubing fitting size, not by electronic interfacing.
The ASA/PC enclosure includes UV protectant additives engineered specifically for long-term outdoor exposure — ASA was developed as the UV-stable alternative to ABS for exterior applications. UL 94-V0 flammability rating. The nickel-plated brass filter element resists corrosion from typical rooftop conditions. Operating temperature range -22 to 185 deg F covers the full North American climate envelope. The 5-year ACI warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship.
