ApplicationIndoor

The ACI A/R-PUP is an indoor wall-mounted room pickup port in the Beige (R) finish — the aesthetically pleasing reference tap for indoor building static pressure measurement. Designed to mount to a standard 2x4 junction box (or directly to the wall) and seal the port hole with the included foam pad, it provides a reference pressure tap for HVAC controls, isolation room monitoring, cleanroom pressurization control, and any application where the room's static pressure needs to be sensed cleanly without ducted intrusion.

Used in conjunction with any low-DP differential pressure transmitter or room status monitor accepting 3/16 in tubing connections. Standard installation tips: avoid locations next to supply air diffusers or return air grilles; for building static, place on the first-floor common-hallway area. For positive-pressure (clean room, protected) applications, the high port goes inside the clean space and the low port outside / hallway. For negative-pressure (containment, isolation) applications, the high port goes in the hallway and the low port inside the lab or isolation room. The R variant ships in beige ABS housing with a slim profile that disappears against neutral wall colors.

Best for

Indoor building static pressure monitoring in commercial and office buildings, clean room pressurization control, hospital isolation room status monitoring, laboratory containment verification, and any application requiring a clean, low-profile indoor reference pressure tap. The Beige (R) finish suits traditional or commercial interiors.

5-Year WarrantyManufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal installation, use, and service. RoHS2, WEEE, and REACH compliant.

Key Features

Beige (R) Architectural Finish

The R variant ships in beige ABS — a traditional architectural neutral that blends with commercial, healthcare, and educational interiors built before contemporary white-on-white aesthetics.

Discrete Wall-Mount Design

4.50 in H x 2.75 in W x 1.12 in D footprint mounts flush to the wall surface (or to a standard 2x4 junction box) for a clean architectural appearance. The intake port is shielded from direct view by the housing geometry — clean, quiet, professional.

Cross-Linked Polyethylene Foam Gasket

Compressible foam gasket on the back of the housing seals the port hole on installation and isolates the sensor port from drafts in the wall cavity — important for accurate low-DP readings where wall-cavity convection currents would otherwise corrupt the reading.

Nickel-Plated Brass Filter

Filter rated for 150 psi maximum operating pressure (10.3 bar). Keeps the sensing path clean from indoor dust and lint without restricting pressure response.

ABS UL-94 HB Construction

Fire-retardant ABS housing rated UL-94 HB for indoor commercial and institutional use. Operating range 35 to 140 deg F covers all typical conditioned indoor environments. RoHS2, WEEE, and REACH compliant.

Standard 2x4 Junction Box Mounting

Mounts directly to the wall or to a standard 2-inch x 4-inch electrical junction box using the included (2) #6-32 x 1 in screws. No special mounting hardware or wall preparation required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the ACI A/R-PUP do, and what does it pair with?

The A/R-PUP is an indoor room pickup port — a wall-mounted reference pressure tap with no electronics or sensing of its own. It captures the room static pressure and routes it through 3/16 in ID tubing to a differential pressure transmitter or room status monitor. Pairs with any low-DP transmitter that accepts 3/16 in tubing — including the BAPI ZPM series, Dwyer RSM/RSME/RSMC room status monitors, and ACI's own DLP or MLP2 transmitter series.

What tubing do I need with this pickup port, and is it included?

Tubing is sold separately. The port uses a barbed fitting that accepts 3/16 in ID flexible poly tubing. ACI offers FDA-compliant medical-grade flexible PVC tubing kits in 10 ft (A/10' TUBE), 20 ft (A/20' TUBE), 50 ft (A/50' TUBE), and 100 ft (A/100' TUBE) lengths. For best results, keep the tubing run as short as practical — long runs slow response time and can develop condensation traps that corrupt readings.

Where should this be mounted indoors for accurate building static measurement?

Avoid locations next to supply air diffusers or return air grilles — localized airflow corrupts the reading. For overall building static, an ideal location is on the first floor in a common hallway area, away from doors that open frequently to outside. For room-specific status (isolation, clean room), mount inside the monitored space at typical sensing height (5 to 6 ft above finished floor).

How do I wire the high/low ports for positive vs negative pressure rooms?

For positive pressure (clean room, protected isolation, immunocompromised patient rooms): high port of the transmitter goes inside the monitored space (connect to the A/R-PUP mounted in the room); low port goes outside or in the reference hallway. For negative pressure (lab containment, source isolation, infectious patient rooms): high port goes in the hallway; low port goes inside the lab or isolation room (connect to the A/R-PUP).

What differential pressure transmitters are compatible with the A/R-PUP?

Any low-DP differential pressure transmitter with a barbed fitting accepting 3/16 in ID tubing — including ACI's own DLP and MLP2 series, BAPI ZPM zone pressure multi-sensors, Dwyer RSM, RSME, and RSMC StabiliSENSE room status monitors, Senva pressure transmitters, and most other manufacturers' low-DP air pressure transmitters. The pickup port is a passive accessory — brand compatibility is determined by the tubing fitting size, not by electronic interfacing.

Is this the same housing as the other-color variant?

Mechanically identical — same internal geometry, same gasket, same filter, same mounting hardware. The only difference between the R (Beige) and the R2 (White) variant is the housing color and finish. Pick based on architectural matching: beige for traditional commercial / institutional interiors.
