The Contemporary Controls EISK8-100T Skorpion Switch is a compact, eight-port unmanaged Ethernet switch built for control panel installations in building automation, BACnet/IP, and industrial control networks. Every port operates at 10 or 100 Mbps with auto-negotiation of speed and duplex, and Auto-MDIX accepts straight-through or crossover cabling without configuration. Powered from 10-36 VDC or 24 VAC with redundant power inputs and a rugged metal enclosure, the EISK8-100T is engineered to survive the noisy, vibration-prone conditions of mechanical rooms and industrial control panels.
› Plug-and-Play Operation
No configuration, no console port, no learning curve. Auto-negotiation sets each port's data rate (10 or 100 Mbps) and duplex automatically. Auto-MDIX accepts straight-through or crossover cables. Apply power, connect cables, and the switch is operational.
› Industrial-Grade Build
Rugged metal enclosure with a metal DIN-rail clip, IP30 protection, and 0°C to 60°C operating range. Redundant primary and backup power inputs accept either AC or DC. UL 508 Listed for industrial control equipment and CE marked for international projects.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the EISK8-100T require any configuration before use?
No. The switch is fully plug-and-play. Auto-negotiation sets the data rate and duplex on each port automatically based on the connected device, and Auto-MDIX handles either straight-through or crossover cabling without manual selection. There is no console port, no IP address, and no setup software to install.
Can the switch be powered from a 24 VAC transformer shared with other BAS devices?
Yes. The EISK8-100T uses a half-wave rectified low-voltage power supply, which allows it to share a 24 VAC source with other 24 VAC/VDC building automation control devices on the same transformer. Verify the transformer's VA rating supports the combined load (the switch consumes 3 VA at 24 VAC).
What is redundant power and how do I wire it?
The 4-pin removable power connector accepts a primary input (HI / COM) and a backup input (HIB / COM). If the primary source fails, the backup automatically maintains switch operation with no link drop. Either input independently accepts 10-36 VDC or 24 VAC ±10%, so you can mix sources (for example, 24 VAC primary with a 24 VDC battery backup).
Is the EISK8-100T suitable for BACnet/IP networks?
Yes. The EISK8-100T is a Layer 2 unmanaged Ethernet switch and supports any IP-based protocol, including BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP, KNX/IP, EtherNet/IP, and standard TCP/IP. As an unmanaged switch it does not provide VLANs, QoS, or managed features - if your BACnet/IP segment requires those, choose a managed switch from the Contemporary Controls EICP or EISK-M family instead.
How do I know which ports are running at 10 Mbps versus 100 Mbps?
Each port has two LEDs built into the RJ-45 connector. The top LED (Speed) glows solid green when the port is linked at 100 Mbps and is unlit when linked at 10 Mbps. The bottom LED (Link/Activity) glows solid green when a link is established and flashes during data transmission. A solid Power LED on the front confirms the switch itself is energized.
