PS12HD-P-D-N-T — PowerScout 12 HD Multi-Circuit Power Submeter

The Dent Instruments PS12HD-P-D-N-T is the PowerScout™ 12 HD, DENT's networked 12-channel, three-phase submeter. The PS12HD-P-D-N-T measures voltage, current, power, energy, and many other electrical parameters on any combination of single- and three-phase loads — up to 4 three-phase or 12 single-phase circuits — and can network with other PowerScout HD meters to cover multiple loads across a facility.

Looking ahead? The PowerScout FLEX 12 is DENT's next-generation replacement for the PowerScout HD — faster commissioning with FLEXPoint™, browser-based FLEXPoint™ GO, flexible Virtual Meters, and 7.2 kHz sampling.

See the PowerScout FLEX 12 →

The PS12HD-P-D-N-T delivers revenue-grade performance with 1.8 kHz sampling, a 1-second update rate, and ANSI C12.20-2010 Class 0.2 accuracy (depending on CT). It supports both Modbus (SunSpec IEEE-754) and BACnet over RS-485 or Ethernet, includes four digital pulse inputs, and provides a 12 VDC auxiliary output. DENT's patented PhaseChek™ circuitry (U.S. Patent 7,612,552) confirms correct CT orientation during commissioning.

This model is TOU (Time-of-Use) enabled: the PS12HD-P-D-N-T tracks energy against tariff schedules using ViewPoint HD, supporting up to 3 tariffs, 6 schedules, and 4 seasons with holiday handling, and stores accumulated kWh and peak kW per tariff (with reset timestamps) for accurate, schedule-aware cost recovery.

Built as a UL-Recognized circuit board on a mounting plate, the PS12HD-P-D-N-T is delivered in the Mounting Plate configuration and is configured through ViewPoint HD PC software or a web browser. It operates as an endpoint reporting to a building management system, RTU, data acquisition device, or DENTCloud™ host.

Best for

  • High-density tenant and accountability submetering — up to 12 circuits from one device
  • Bi-directional metering and demand-response monitoring
  • Real-time power monitoring of building mains and equipment loads
  • Tariff-aware cost recovery across peak, off-peak, and seasonal rates
  • Projects requiring Made in USA / BAA / TAA equipment

Key Features

Time-of-Use (TOU) Enabled

The PS12HD-P-D-N-T tracks energy against utility tariff schedules in ViewPoint HD — up to 3 tariffs, 6 schedules, and 4 seasons with holiday handling — and reports accumulated kWh and peak kW per tariff with reset timestamps.

Revenue-Grade Accuracy + PhaseChek™

The PS12HD-P-D-N-T meets ANSI C12.20-2010 Class 0.2 revenue-grade accuracy (dependent on CT) with NIST-traceable calibration, and patented PhaseChek™ circuitry (U.S. Patent 7,612,552) flags mis-phased or backwards CTs during commissioning.

Dual-Protocol + 4 Pulse Inputs

The PS12HD-P-D-N-T communicates over Modbus (SunSpec IEEE-754) or BACnet using RS-485 or Ethernet (Modbus RTU, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP, or BACnet IP) and adds four digital pulse inputs for gas, water, or other meters.

12 Channels, One Device

Meter up to 4 three-phase or 12 single-phase circuits across two voltage references from a single PS12HD-P-D-N-T, reducing hardware and panel space versus single-circuit meters.

ViewPoint HD Setup

Configure the PS12HD-P-D-N-T from ViewPoint HD or a web browser, scan the network to find and name every PowerScout HD meter, and pre-build configuration templates — even without the meter on hand — for fast, repeatable deployment.

Universal CT Compatibility

Use the PS12HD-P-D-N-T with DENT 333 mV Split Core or RōCoil™ (Rogowski) CTs, including revenue-grade options, measuring up to 4000 A depending on the CT selected.
