The EE Controls LSN7-04-A is a 4-pole, normally closed, electrically held lighting contactor with a 120 VAC 50/60 Hz control coil, rated 30 A for ballast and LED loads to 600 VAC under AC-5a and AC-5b, and 32 A breaking all lines at 600 VAC. In the LSN7-04-A, all four poles are closed with the coil de-energized, so the lighting circuits stay on through a loss of control power. EE Controls has discontinued this catalog number and cross-references it to the WEG CWM18-00-04X18.

The LSN7 to CWM18 crossover part numbers on this page were supplied by EE Controls. They are not printed in either manufacturer datasheet, so treat them as a vendor-supplied cross-reference rather than a published equivalency. Confirm fit and ratings against your own submittal before you order.

What the swap changes

Poles and switching

Four main poles either way, switching up to four lighting circuits from one control point. The 4 NC arrangement of the CWM18-00-04X18 comes from the EE Controls cross-reference, not from a WEG datasheet.

Coil voltage

EE Controls lists coil code A as 120 VAC at 50/60 Hz. No WEG datasheet for the CWM18-00-04X18 was located, so its coil rating is unconfirmed. Note that WEG documents the 120 V coil on the companion CWM18-00-40V18 as 110 V at 50 Hz and 120 V at 60 Hz.

Fail state

Both parts are normally closed, so on a loss of control power the lights stay on. For the CWM18-00-04X18 this comes from the EE Controls cross-reference.

Panel footprint

EE Controls publishes the LSN7 body as 81 x 45 x 87 mm. For frame reference, the companion WEG CWM18-00-40V18 datasheet gives the same 81 x 45 x 87 mm, but no part-specific CWM18-00-04X18 datasheet was located, so fit is not confirmed from WEG documentation. On mounting, EE Controls publishes 35 mm DIN rail or panel surface and WEG's datasheet lists installation as not available.

Terminations

EE Controls publishes 14-10 AWG at 15 lb.in on the power terminals and 16-12 AWG at 10 lb.in on the control terminals. For frame reference, the companion WEG CWM18-00-40V18 datasheet gives the same 15 lb.in and 10 lb.in torques and publishes conductor sections in mm2 only. No part-specific CWM18-00-04X18 datasheet was located, so neither figure is confirmed for that catalog number.

Brand and label

The contactor ships marked WEG rather than EE Controls, so any submittal, panel schedule or drawing that calls out the LSN7 by catalog number needs updating.

Read the five amber lines before you order. The coil is the one that matters most on a control circuit: EE Controls documents 120 V at both 50 and 60 Hz, WEG documents 110 V at 50 Hz and 120 V at 60 Hz, so the two agree on 60 Hz service and not on 50 Hz. The AC-5a and AC-5b lighting rating is printed on the EE Controls nameplate and is not published by WEG at all, so if your specification cites an AC-5 figure, contact us before you order and we will get it confirmed in writing. Mounting and AWG conductor ranges are published by EE Controls and not by WEG, which does not mean they differ, only that WEG's datasheet does not state them.

What is the amperage rating I should be specifying?

For lighting duty the EE Controls nameplate figure on the LSN7-04-A is 30 A ballast and LED at 600 VAC under AC-5a and AC-5b. The general purpose figure, breaking all lines at 600 VAC, is 32 A. The motor figure is 18 A AC-3 at 440 V and below. Those are three different rating categories, so match the category to the load you are switching rather than reading across. WEG does not publish an AC-5a or AC-5b rating for the CWM18, so if your specification cites one, ask us to get it confirmed in writing.
