ACI AIM2 : Analog Input, Analog Output, Analog Isolation Module w/ Rescaling
The AIM2 serves as an optical isolator for analog input signals (voltage or current) and their corresponding outputs. It is compatible with input signals ranging from 0 to 20 VDC or 0 to 20 mA, and it can produce output signals within these same ranges. The AIM2 offers both preset and adjustable input and output configurations, with options for voltage or current. Current signals can be either sink or source on both input and output.
To operate, the AIM2 requires an external 24 VAC isolation transformer with a floating secondary for power, and it includes an onboard 24 VAC isolation transformer to power the isolated output. The device is field calibratable, but factory calibration is available upon request for quicker installation.
Applications of the AIM2 include isolating grounded electrical actuators, fluorescent light dimmers, ground loops, variable frequency motor drives, and general isolation of analog signal inputs and outputs.
